We had a special visit to Sandpoint a few weeks ago. Brooklyn and Isla got to meet their cousin Kira for the first time. Kira is 9 years old now and moved to Portland 4 years ago. Brooklyn has heard me talk about Kira and occasionally she'll ask me questions about her. She'll tell me that someday she will get to meet her cousin who rides in a wheelchair. That someday finally came! Kira was granted a wish from the Make a Wish foundation to visit friends and family in Sandpoint. Once the date was set, my sister and I started planning a busy weekend. Rene, myself and all four kids flew up on a Friday night, we had a Kira day on Saturday, Aunt Heidi's baby shower Sunday and flew home Monday. It was a whirlwind of a weekend!
The house Kira was staying at was unbelievable! It was right on the lake with a private beach and an amazing deck. The kids had so much fun!
Sunday morning we got to go visit Grandma Lyn and Grandpa Tom. We walked to Pine Street Park and the kids had so much fun on he big slide. Isla was scaring me a little.
Sunday afternoon, was Aunt Heidi's baby shower. It was a really cute western themed shower. Rene and I thought it would be fun to dress the kids up like cowgirls and cowboys. They loved it!
Goodbye Sandpoint! We'll see you again at Christmas!
