Brooklyn turns 4!

We had Brooklyn's birthday party the weekend after Christmas.  Grandma Lyn and Grandpa Tom were here visiting so we wanted to have her party a little early so they could attend.  Brooklyn wanted a coloring book themed birthday this year.  It was actually a really easy theme!  We had little coloring books and crayons for party favors and the cake had crayon candles.  I also made lollipop cookies which turned out really cute.  Brooklyn's big birthday gift this year was a hello kitty tent.  She LOVES it!  She sleeps in it almost every night and it actually fits in her room quite nice.  Grandma Lyn and Grandpa Tom got her a bunch of new clothes which was awesome!  She had a growth spurt after Thanksgiving and pretty much grew out of all of her clothes.  We were very thankful for the new wardrobe.

Brooklyn at age 4:

• She calls her stuffed animals her "stuffies."  She becomes really attached to one for about 3 or 4 months, then she changes to a new one.  Over the summer she only wanted to sleep with Mingo, a stuffed flamingo.  Her newest favorite is Moosey, you guessed it a stuffed moose :-)

• She pretends that her room is her house and she loves to play imaginative games in her "own house."  She even likes to decorate her house for holidays. 

• She is still obsessed with watching Netflix.  Her newest obsession is Tinkerbell.  She tells me she wishes she were a fairy just about everyday.  

• She is in the beginning stages of writing her name.  She is only confident in her "B" and "O" so she writes the B then leaves a space and then writes two O's.  With couching she can finish the rest, and she is improving every time. 

• She is an organizer just like her Mom.  She likes to help organize closets and she is really good at grouping like things together.  She has also recently been asking to do laundry and wants to help with every step.  She is actually really good at folding laundry!. 

• She is really good at informing me of any wrong doing that is occurring or about to occur.  She will come and get me immediately or just start yelling depending on the danger level.  I know she has saved Isla from being seriously hurt in a few occasions.  Brooklyn has a very good sense of danger.  

•  She is still a Daddy's girl.  She wants to be doing whatever her Dad is doing.  She was out last week  helping him shovel snow.  She also likes to help him do household chores and make smoothies.  Several times a day you can hear her say, "Can my help you do that?"

          We love you Brooklyn! We are so happy you started our family 4 years ago!
