Brooklyn Turns Five!

Brooklyn's fifth birthday party was a cotton candy princess theme party.  We had cotton candy on the cupcakes.  It was my first attempt at making homemade butter cream frosting, and It was delicious.  I'm pretty sure it's ruined me for canned frosting.  We had her party on her actually birthday and Grandma Lyn and Grandpa Tom were here.  We had tacos, cupcakes, presents and played Brooklyn's favorite new game called Hedbanz.  It was too much fun. 

Brooklyn at age 5:

She is very compassionate and has a sensitive heart.  She gets emotional really easily.
She likes to put her clothes on her stuffed animals.
She is super protective of Isla.  Which is a blessing because Isla is our accident prone child.
She is a great listener and a quick learner.  You only have to tell her once.  She remembers EVERYTHING!
She is very curious about how things work.  She asks a lot of thought provoking questions.  She thinks about things long and deep.
When she gets excited about something she can't sleep.
Every now and then she will bust out a word that seems too old for her.  For example she'll say "you know what's interesting about this picture?"
She hums when she is concentrating on something.
She likes to watch cooking shows.
She is great at trying new foods.  She doesn't always like what she tries but she will try it.  She says "you never know if you are going to like it unless you try it!"
